Severe Weather Conditions

Dear Parents/Carers

Severe weather conditions

The weather is changing and I thought it advisable to inform you of the arrangements we have at school in case of severe weather conditions.  This week we are concerned about the forecast for Thursday.  Obviously if Lewisham Transport decide not to run the buses we will have to close.

If it snows heavily during the day the transport teams will work with the school to arrange to get children home. This may mean we will have to text you to advise you that we are closing early and that you would need to ensure there was someone at home to take your child from the bus.

If it snows overnight I will be in contact with the Local Authority and we may have to agree not to open the school. We will text and email all parents/carers and advise them that we are not opening and not to send their child to school. I expect that if lots of schools close text servers may become very busy, you may need to call the school or check the website.

We will update the school answerphone with details during the day on what we expect for the following day. We will also put the information on the school website. Please be assured that we will not take this decision lightly. It is always our aim to cause the least disruption possible and keep the school open, however we have to keep everyone including the staff safe.

Please ensure the office has your current mobile and email details .

Yours sincerely,
