Welcome to Chameleons class!
My name is Doris and I will be your child’s teacher this year.
I hope you all had a wonderful break and made the most of the unusually dry weather. Summer always seems to fly by and now it’s time to embark on a new learning adventure.
This year I am very excited to be teaching Chameleon Class! My wonderful support team this year are: Roger, Lima, Aaron and Luke, and we will all do our best to ensure that each student has a safe and motivating learning experience in this upcoming year. We expect that this will be a year filled with lots of learning, fun, frustrations, at times, and many successes!
All the children have settled really well in their new class and we are very proud of them. They have adapted to the new environment, just like Chameleons do! We’ve spent the first couple of weeks getting to know new routines, learning each other’s names and making lovely art work to display in our classroom and make it look beautiful.
Our learning topic for this term is “Heroes”. We will be learning about inspirational people in history, modern day superheroes and people who help us and are important to us. We will also be focusing on developing your child’s communication and social skills.
In spring our topic will be “Amazing World” and in the summer term we will be exploring the topic “Journeys”, which should be lots of fun and provide opportunities to get out and about. I shall be sending you more information about our activities and trips as the term unfolds.
Please contact me in your child’s contact book or by phoning the school if you have any questions or concerns. As always, the year ahead will be packed full of exciting learning experiences for all the children and we look forward to your support and encouragement as the year progresses.
