Welcome to Tiger class. Hope you all had a wonderful summer break!
The Tiger class team is Claire, Elaine, Carol and Saira. The children have settled very well. Our topic for the first 2 weeks is ‘My New Class’ and the ‘Tigers’ have been very busy learning the name of their new class, building friendships, making tiger masks and decorating tigers to go on the display board outside. We have been reading the story ‘Walking through the Jungle’ and singing and acting it out in the classroom.
For the rest of term, our topic is ‘Celebration.’ Alongside working on their targets, Tiger class will be looking at birthdays, Divali, Black history and the Harvest festival, making puppets in DT and dancing in P.E. We have lots of interesting activities planned for this term. Tiger class will be going to Dulwich Picture Gallery this term on October 1st for Art workshops. Also the freelance artist, Erica, who has worked a great deal with our pupils, will be in class for a whole day on the 17th September. On September the 16th, The London Philharmonic Orchestra will be working with all the pupils in Tiger Class. This will be every Monday morning for the whole year! On October 10th, Tiger Class will be of to the Centre for urban Ecology on the Greenwich Peninsula for a nature exploration. Later in the term, we will be visiting the Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood for a puppet workshop. Trips to local parks and museums will be happening regularly.
Swimming is starting again for our class on Friday 13th September- the session will now be at Downham Pool and lessons will be every Friday until half term. Horse riding will not be until the Spring term (second half).
Tiger Class team are very proud of how the children have been joining in with all the activities. We look forward to the term ahead.
