Zebra Class 2014-2015

Welcome to Zebra class. Hope you all had a wonderful summer break!

The Zebra class team is Claire, Saira, Angela and Tracey.

The children have settled very well. Our topic for the first 2 weeks is ‘My New Class’ and  the ‘Zebras’  have been very busy learning the name of their new class, building friendships, making zebra masks and decorating zebras to go on  the display board outside.

For the rest of term, our topic is ‘My universe.’ Alongside working on their targets, Zebra class will be learning about Space, light. Later in the term Zebras will be going to the Science museum to learn more about space through some hands on activities and workshops. We have lots of interesting activities planned for this term. Zebra class will be going to Dulwich Picture Gallery this term on October 21st for Art workshops.  Also the freelance artist, Erica, who has worked a great deal with our pupils, will be in class for a whole day on the 25th September. As part of our work on Harvest, we will all be visiting Kew Gardens. On November 25th, we will be visiting Greenwich Park and the Planetarium. We will also be regularly vising local parks and the shops.

After half term, we will all be going to the Wide horizons centre in Eltham on Thursday mornings for 6 weeks to do special ‘Forest school’ workshops.

Swimming has started again for our class on Monday 8th September- the session will now be at Downham Pool and lessons will be every Monday until half term. Horse riding will also be starting this half term, from 15th Sept. Zebras will also be doing yoga this half term in school. P.E. is on a Tuesday so please send in some kit  (just shorts, a T-shirt and trainers or plimsolls) thank you.

Zebra Class team are very proud of how the children have been joining in with all the activities. We look forward to the term ahead.

Thanks for visiting the Zebra Class page,
