Welcome back! I hope you all had a great summer break!
My name is Doris and I will be your child’s teacher this year.
The support staff are: Natasha, Shanya and Tracey.
We are looking forward to an exciting and productive school year! We have a busy term ahead of us!
We will spend the first couple of weeks getting to know new routines, learning each other’s names and making lovely art work for our classroom to make it look beautiful.
Please feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss anything regarding your child either in their contact books or by phoning the school.
Our project this term is:
This term our topic is Celebrations and we will be exploring the topic through a variety of sensory activities. The first book we will focus on in literacy is Kipper’s birthday.
The children will be also working on their literacy and numeracy targets and developing their independence skills. In Science we will be exploring sound and hearing and light and dark and in art we will be creating self portraits !We are looking forward to some exciting activities and trips this term to support our topics.
Tigers class will be swimming on Tuesdays during the first half term beginning from next week.
Please make sure your child has a swimming costume and a towel!
Please make sure all clothing is clearly labelled with your child’s name. We would be grateful if you could send in at least one spare set of clothes for your child in case we need it.
As part of the school day stu- dents in Tiger Class will have a morning and afternoon snack. At this time we focus on children’s communication and social skills. We will be also doing cooking activities, learning about healthy eating and prepare some multicultural dishes to support our topic. In order to support this we would be really grateful if each family could make a donation of £10 per term.
