Personalised Plans

Personalised Plans

Personalised plans are individualised curriculums for each student at Drumbeat. The focus of these is to meet the individual need of each students and encapsulate the holistic learning needed for future life outcomes. Each student has 4 annual targets that are written in conjunction with pupil EHCP outcomes as well as areas of need identified in annual MyWorld meetings with parents. Parents are pivotal to this process to ensure areas targeted are relevant and meaningful to the pupil’s future life outcomes.  Areas are varied and range from self-help skills, independent living skills, travel training, nurturing special interests, meeting sensory needs and emotional regulation to name but a few. The generalisation of skills and use in practical contexts is focused on where possible to ensure that skills are embedded and meaningful. Targets are addressed through ongoing daily activities, learning outside the classroom, discrete teaching time and a range of in house and external interventions. Targets are monitored qualatively on a half termly basis in through student personlised topic overviews. These are then reviewed twice annually and sent to parents.
